What Do Your Sketchbooks Say About You?

I, like most artists, have a large collections of semi-filled sketchbooks piled high in my cabinets and at the foot of my bed. But how do I "finish" these? Finishing a sketchbook is like completing a thought, the ending of an era, acknowledging the start of something new. In hopes to push myself past these thoughts, I have challenged myself to "finish" all of my sketchbooks, and in the process document my findings.

Upon pulling all my sketchbooks out to photograph them, I realized that they truly are an accurate representation of myself. Although these are not all of my sketchbooks, the theme of black is a common one when I chose something to place my thoughts, images, and lists in. The top two black books have stickers on them, stickers that can only be found on the walls of a unisex bathroom in my favorite bar in Harvard Square. (Shout out to Charlie's kitchen)

My feelings about this finding: Funny, and completely accurate to how I see my life in this moment.
