Why show studies?

To some, their studies may be a intimate moment of discovery. Something they created while in a fog or working through some tough issues in a larger piece. Not all studies are created equal, and certainly not all are as beautiful as the next. Some are happy accidents, while some show the struggle an artist can have with their creative mind when in a creative whirlwind.

The process of making art and exploring these issues, is what my art is all about. Sharing my studies is a way of acknowledging all the “bad” ideas in order to bring forth the “good” ones. And who knows, sometimes the ugliest of ideas work the best!

While exploring this page, you may notice notes/ thoughts written in the description of some images. These are notes I have taken while creating a piece or study, and are important to understanding my art process.
